What is a Phishing Email?

Phishing starts with unsolicited emails being sent asking the email recipients to click on a provided link or attachment to update or change personal information, apply for additional products, or avoid having accounts suspended, closed or to claim a prize. After clicking on the unsolicited attachment or link, the email recipient is taken to a fake site that requests personal information, which could include bank account numbers, user IDs, passwords, personal identification number (PIN), credit card numbers, social security numbers (SSN), account numbers or other confidential personal information.

SunPath will never ask you to provide us with your personal or service contract information via an unsolicited email.

If you receive an email that appears to be from SunPath and asks you to respond by providing personal or financial information, do not reply or click on the link. Instead, contact SunPath directly to confirm the legitimacy of the email.
